A 39-year-old woman was on Sunday robbed of her shoulder bag, by two men at gunpoint while in the vicinity of Croal and Pollard Streets, Georgetown.
The victim has been identified as Anita Sugrim, a vendor of Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara.
According to police information, the incident occurred at around 15:00hrs.
INews understands that the victim was standing at the corner of Croal Street, Georgetown awaiting public transportation when the two perpetrators rode up to her on a bicycle from an eastern direction on Croal Street.
The suspect who was being towed, reportedly whipped out a handgun from his waist and told her to hand over her hand bag.
Sugrim immediately complied and the perpetrators then escaped on the said bicycle, south on Pollard Street.
CCTV footage of the area is being reviewed as investigations continue.
