[www.inewsguyana.com] – A vendor was placed on $75,000 bail by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty for the offense of wounding.

Thirty – three – year old Stacy Mansfield of Durban Street, Lodge Georgetown is accused of wounding another vendor at the Stabroek Market in Georgetown. He pleaded not guilty to the offence.

It is alleged that on October 14 at Stabroek Market, Mansfield was armed with a dangerous weapon, which he utilized to attack and wound Hussain Murray. Police prosecutor Seon Blackman told the court that on the day in question, the accused and complainant had a misunderstanding which stemmed from the complainant coercing a customer from the accused.

As a result, an argument ensued after which Mansfield became annoyed and armed himself with a scissors and dealt the complainant a stab to his neck. Based on the seriousness of the offence and the fact that both parties are known to each, the prosecutor objected to bail. However, the Magistrate granted bail and Mansfield is expected to return to court on November 05. [Royan Abrams]
