[www.inewsguyana.com] – Ansa McAL under its Stag Beer Brand has joined forces with the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) to host a Futsal competition set to start on Saturday, November 1 from 19:00h.

The tournament was launched on Tuesday at the Water Chris Hotel where it was announced that the winning prize will be $400,000, while second place will receive $200,000. The third place finisher will walk away with $125,000 while fourth place will bag $75,000.

President of the GFA, Vernon Burnett stressed that the gesture by Ansa McAL will only enhance the sport.

“We are pleased to be in partnership with Ansa McAL and more so Stag Beer as it will work towards the development of football,” Burnett said.

Brand Manager for Stag Beer, John Maikoo explained the reason for being a part of the tournament that was not held since 2011.

“We see sponsorship as the key driver for the development of sport and football especially with nothing much going on at the moment, this is a lasting partnership with the GFA and we would that the tournament is fair.

“We are committed to the tournament and the sport and hope that it gets bigger every year,” Maikoo noted.

Every squad will be allowed the maximum of 15 players with 10 being active per game. Games will be played on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening with eight games being scheduled per night.
