An Identification (ID) Parade is expected to be conducted today, where eyewitnesses to the murder of Carlos Wong, of Half Mile, Linden, on Friday will seek to positively identify one of the alleged suspects.

This is according to Police “F” Division Commander, Rabindranauth Budhram on Monday morning.

On June 9, 2017, Wong, a 45-year-old miner, was reportedly involved in an argument with two men at Omai Landing, Essequibo River over a water pump.

The confrontation escalated and Wong was chopped to death in the process, while his two alleged attackers fled the scene.

Persons who witnessed the entire ordeal rushed the miner to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

On Sunday morning, police reported that one of the alleged suspects had been apprehended and is being interrogated.

The other perpetrator is still in hiding as a search for him continues.
