[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force is investigating  a fraud involving “tens of millions of dollars” from the Ministry of Public Service, under the previous administration, according to Minister of Governance Raphael Trotman.

While not naming the former Minister, Jennifer Westford, who was charged with larceny involving State vehicle, Trotman gave very little details on the investigations.

“Without prejudice to any ongoing investigations, by the day things seem to be bubbling up from the deep and one of them indeed pertains to the Public Service Ministry; I don’t want to name the Minister directly but certainly activities around that Ministry pertaining to the allocation of tens of millions of dollars is I believe engaging the Guyana Police Force,” Trotman said in response to questions from the media at a post cabinet media briefing.

When further probed, he could not say if Personnel Officer, Margaret Cummings was involved.

“I hasten to stress, we’re not pinpointing a Minister, we’re looking at activities of a Ministry, which are engaging the attention of the police,” Trotman said.
