Police get over $30M to buy Arms/Ammunition

Police[www.inewsguyana.com] –Cabinet did not object when it met on Tuesday last to a $30.5 million contract to procure new arms and ammunition for the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

This is according to Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon during his post cabinet media briefing on Wednesday, July 30.

Dr. Luncheon said too that another £300,000 was not objected to by Cabinet.

The £300,000 is expected to be used to purchase uniform for ranks.

Meanwhile, also in security, Dr. Luncheon said that Cabinet offered its no objection to US$200,000 to buy a white well aircraft for the Guyana Defence Force (GDF). [Kurt Campbell]
