Beharry, who was under oath, told the court that the body of the deceased taxi driver, Henry was found gagged with several stab wounds, burnt and clad in only a blue under garment.

The murder accused, Clifton Graham was remanded and the trial is expected to continue tomorrow.

In the previous voir dire trials, witnesses testified. This means that there were preliminary examinations of witnesses. As such, jurors were excused and the tendered statements may be considered material evidence.

Graham is accused of killing the taxi driver between May 2, 2009 and May 3, 2009 at La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara (ECD). It was reported that the taxi driver’s body was discovered, bound and gagged, with his throat slashed, and several stab wounds and marks of violence at Onion Field, LBI.

Henry’s taxi, PKK 9036, was later found in a trench at Plaisance, ECD, with its amplifier ripped out.

The post-mortem report had revealed that Henry died of haemorrhaging and shock due to incised wounds.
