Police Corporal succumbs to injuries following car crash

The Police Corporal who had crashed into two stray cows on the Susannah Public Road, Number 19 Village, Berbice on November 22, 2016, has today succumbed to his injuries.

This was confirmed by a cousin of the now dead man. The family members however, were too traumatized to provide any information leading up to the man’s death.

Inews previously reported that 29-year-old Satesh Narine of Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice was a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital due to injuries he received after he collided into two cows around 02:00hrs on the day in question.

Enquiries had disclosed that Narine, who is the Subordinate Officer-in-Charge of Albion Police Station was proceeding west along the southern side of the road in motor car PSS 4799 when he met with the accident. As result, his motor car ended up in a shallow trench.

He was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital by residents of the community, where he was treated and transferred to the GPHC in a critical state.

Narine had sustained a fractured right shoulder, fractured hands and injuries to his back.

The two animals however, died from the collision and their owner was taken into police custody.
