[www.inewsguyana.com] – Plaisance outhustled the Eagles to win 23-21 in the Pepsi Sonics under-23 outdoor 5-on-5 basketball tournament at the National Gymnasium outdoor hard court on Sunday evening.

Plaisance clearly stuck to their game plan which was to push the pace of the ball on every possession which led to a number of easy buckets in the paint.

Kelvin Yorrick put on a dazzling display of passing to get his teammates involved in the game for Plaisance.

At the final buzzer, it was star player Nikkoloi Smith leading the game with nine points while Rolston Richmond had a team high eight points in the losing effort for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, third place went to the Colts with a walkover win against the Pepsi Sonics.

Plaisance took home the first place prize of $50,000 which was sponsored by Southland International while Smith also won the three point contest which was sponsored by Giftland Office Max to the tune of $10,000.

The second place prize was sponsored by Automotive Essentials and third place by Antarctic Maintenance and Repairs.
