Pensioner charged with stealing electricity

woman-in-handcuffs[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Pensioner of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, charged with stealing electricity, was today placed on his own recognizance by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Allan Campbell pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on September 28 at West Ruimveldt, he fraudulently and maliciously converted electricity to his house for his own use, property of the Guyana Power and Light (GPL).

He will return to Court before Magistrate Faith McGusty on September 29.

  1. i dont blame anyone for teefing electricity..those in gpl and pppc should be jailed for allowing a few to pay 5 dollars while all others have to pay a hefty price..gpl dont have the balls to go after the big electricity thieves. its like how kurshud sattar very much afraid of glenn lall dem

  2. REALLY! Do you know, how many people do this on a daily basis. I live in the US and I can give you a list of the people I know of committing the same crime.
