[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Trinity Grid Holding (TGH) Pacesetters topped the Colts 85-76 to win the Road to Mecca II National Club Basketball title on Sunday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Travis Burnett was a one man show, scoring 16 of his game high 28 points in the final quarter to lead Pacesetters to the championship win.

Burnett got to the rim time and time again, weaving through Colts’ defence with his ball handling skills.

Stephon Gillis contributed 19 points to the win, hitting some nig three at key periods in the game. The win ensured the Pacesetters of $400,000 while the Colts copped the $200,000 second place prize.

Scoring for the Colts were Shelroy Thomas with 19 points and Dave Causway with 17 points. Haslyn Hooper had 12 points and 10 rebounds while Niko Fraser had 10 points.

Meanwhile in the third place playoff, The Dynas Ravens defeated the Retrieve Raiders 72-51 behind Jermaine Slater’s beastly performance of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Marlon Rodrigues added 10 points in the win for the former champs.

Keon Cameron was the leading scorer for the Raiders with 19 points while Stephan Tappin blocked shots from all directions with eight rejections, 12 points and nine rebounds.
