National team departs for Mexico

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The men’s national rugby seven’s team departed for Mexico today, Friday November 28 for the North America and Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) championship. 

The team assembled at the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) before departure and President of the Guyana Rugby Football Association, Peter Green had some parting words.

“You are the best that Guyana has to offer and based on the experience and professionalism you possess, you should not have much of a problem except the weather and the altitude.

“Barring any acts of God I expect you to bring home the title.”

On day one of the two-day championships which kicks off on December 03, Guyana will be playing St Vincent, Cayman Islands and the host and title holders in Group C.

Pool A includes Trinidad, Jamaica, Curacao and Mexico B while Pool B is made up of Barbados, Bermuda, BVI and St Lucia.
