Mother of two remanded for possession of drugs, gun and ammo

A mother of two was remanded to prison when she appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court earlier today.

Alexis Phillips, 40, of 436 Cowis Street, East La Penitance was read facts by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan which alleged that on 16 September, 2016, she had in her possession 51 kilograms and 350 grams of narcotics (cannabis sativa or ganja) for the purpose of trafficking.

Additionally, she was also brought before the court for possession of two live rounds and a firearm, while being unlicenced for same at the time.

The woman was remanded to prison and is expected to appear again on the 4 October, 2016. (Ramona Luthi)
