Man who allegedly stole Cell Phone to help sick son remanded to prison

[www.inewsguyana.com]Jamal Younge was refused bail by Magistrate Faith McGusty on a larceny offence. The 23 – year – old defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence, which alleged that on on Friday, December 27 at Albouystown, Georgetown, he stole from Nikesha Chew one Touch Smart phone valued $70,000.

Attorney- at – Law, Paul Fung- A – Fat represented the defendant and requested that his client be placed on the SKY program.

Younge gave the court an explanation which did not match his plea. He explained that stealing is not his hobby’. He further stated that his son suffers from a head cold and that he does not have anyone to assist him financially with the situation. He was remanded until January 21, 2014.
