Man remanded for murder of Timothy Adams

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Marlon Freeman appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates Court on Friday (December 27) before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to answer a murder charge.

He was not required to plead to the offence which detailed that on Sunday, December, 22 at Turtle Creek, Five Star Backdam while committing a robbery he murdered Timothy Adams.

Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru told the court that on the day in question around 16:00hrs, the deceased left Powis Landing, located some 500 feet from his mining camp.

While in route to his camp he was attacked and robbed by Freeman. The victim’s body was found the following day with a wound to the neck.

He added that police ranks from the area conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of Freeman. He subsequently admitted ‘under caution’ to robbing the deceased of $19,000 and killing him in the process.

The matter was transferred to Matthews Ridge Magistrate Court for February, 3.
