Police are investigating the alleged murder of Intaz Alli, 22, an excavator operator, of 121 “BB” Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD), by a 16-year-old male from the said community.

Investigations have revealed that the reputed wife of the now dead Alli was on her way home from work, in the company of the 16-year-old suspect who was reportedly riding a bicycle alongside her as he routinely does.

At the time, the suspect was in possession of the woman’s bag which had in it a ten inch Rambo knife. Details are a bit sketchy, but it was alleged that as they were proceeding in a northern direction, Alli who was driving motor car PSS 2435 struck down the suspect.

The teen then got up and began to run but was apprehended by Alli who then started to inflict a beating on the lad.

During this process the suspect who was still in possession of the bag, took out the knife and allegedly stabbed Alli to left side of his neck. Alli collapsed and was subsequently rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital by a friend, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspect has since been taken into custody and the alleged murder weapon retrieved.
