[www.inewsguyana.com] – Yogesh Manilall [no address given] was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry for allegedly wounding his mother.

Manilall pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on September 18 at Robb Street, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded his mother, Surujdai Manilall.

Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant told the Court that the incident involving virtual complainant (VC) and her son stemmed from a misunderstanding over money.

The Court heard that on the day in question, the victim was at a business place when the defendant met her and asked for money. After the VC refused to give him the money, he allegedly hit her with a bottle.

The case was put off to October 21 before Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond.
