[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Police in D Division early yesterday morning [Sunday, July 27] removed two marijuana plants measuring approximately 4 and 2 feet respectively.

Additionally, several other plants which were in the nursery stages were removed when police acting on intelligence swooped down on a house at Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara and made the discovery.

iNews has been reliably informed by sources close to the investigation that the man whose name is being withheld seems to have a lucrative business of growing and selling the illicit drugs to persons in the area and even to outsiders who travel to the community to make purchases.

From time to time residents in the area would get the smell of weed and were not sure which direction it was coming from. However after being informed recently about the man’s operation, the police swooped down on him.

He is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is likely to be charged and placed before the courts.
