[www.inewsguyana.com] – Nigel Ranah is claiming that someone broke into his car which was in the parking lot of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) on Camp Street, Georgetown and stole approximately $1.3 million in cash.

iNews understands that Ranah was in the GRA building when the alleged robbery took place. When contacted, Commissioner General of the GRA, Khursid Sattaur said the businessman should not have been parked in that specific area in the first place, given the fact that the parking lot is designated only for GRA staff.

He noted that the parking lot is secured, but when questioned by iNews about the location of the security guard at the time of the alleged robbery, Sattaur could not say.

Sattaur however questioned the man’s story, as he explained that from reports received, Ranah “bullied” the security to park at the location by stating that he is a staff of the GRA.

“I am concerned how it is he was allowed to park there. I am more concerned about that… It is not a matter I am too much concerned with, it’s not my staff. When you do things like that, it’s at your own risk, I suppose,” the Commissioner General said.

Sattaur further made it clear that he cannot confirm that Ranah indeed lost the money.
