James breaks national 400 metres indoor record

[www.inewsguyana.com] – American based Guyanese, Stephan James created history on Friday, January 30 with a record breaking run at the Armory Invitational in New York.

James, who is also a South American Under-23 bronze medalist, broke Guyana’s national 400 metres indoor record clocking a time of 47.15s to erase the old mark of 47.36s.

In addition, James’ local Coach Julian Edmonds was elated for the talented quarter miler and noted that it was in James’ plan over the Christmas holiday to go after the record.

Edmonds also highlighted that James has put Guyana on notice and will be looking for the national outdoor 400 metres record which is currently held by Olympian Winston George of the Police Sport Club.
