GPF conducts successful medical outreach in West Coast Berbice

[www.inewsguyana.com] –The Guyana Police Force conducted a medical outreach on the West Coast of Berbice which formed part of the activities in observance of the Force’s 176th Anniversary on Sunday, July 26.

A number of medical doctors, comprising general medical practitioners and Psychiatrists from public and private institutions, formed the medical team supported by Religious Leaders attached to the Police Cops and Faith Community Network in the various communities.

According to the police force, hundreds of residents benefited from free medical consultations, attention and received medication where necessary at the several locations at Bath Primary School, Rosignol Primary School, Ithaca Health Centre, Bush Lot Health Centre, Woodley Park Health Centre, Belladrum Health Centre, and the Rosignol Health Centre.

“One person who was recently involved in a vehicular accident was referred to the New Amsterdam Hospital with transportation being provided by the Police Force,” a release noted.

IMG_7609The residents as well as a number of police ranks were treated to a presentation on Life Style Diseases by Dr. Carl Niamatali that focused on diabetes, cancer and hypertension in terms of the signs and symptoms, prevention and treatment and which was well received.

Vice President and Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan and Commissioner of Police,. Seelall Persaud, DSM, accompanied the team.

  1. The GPF should be hunting down the people who do the Crime. that’s what we Pay
    Doctors to take care of the sick.
