Fish Vendor granted bail for allegedly stealing from Cousin

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A fish vendor of Agricola Public Road, East Bank Demerara, accused of stealing electronics from his cousin was ordered to post $100,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Tuesday, April 22.

Bruce Sudin pleaded not guilty to the offence, which alleged that between April 16 and 18 at Agricola Public Road, East Bank Demerara, he stole one Pioneer CD Deck and one DVD set, together worth $151,000, property of Lakeram Sankar.

Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant told the Court that the accused and Virtual Complainant (VC) are cousins and reside at the same address. He said the VC is an electrician and left the articles mentioned in the charge intact at his home on April 16.

Upon his return home, he discovered that the articles were missing.

He reported the matter to the Police and after an investigation was carried out; the defendant was arrested and charged.

The Prosecutor did not object to bail and the case was postponed to May 16 for statements.
