The body of a 41-year-old man who was deemed “missing” on Wednesday, was fished out of the water near the Hague Seawall, on the West Coast of Demerara at approximately 11:30hrs yesterday.
Prakash Mahipaul of Hague Jib, West Coast Demerara was last seen by his family at about 17:00hrs on Wednesday.
According to a police source, the cause of death has not been determined but the lifeless body of the man bore no marks of violence. However, foul play has not been ruled out.
Speculations are that the man may have died as a result of drowning. His body was taken to the Ezekiel Funeral home awaiting a post mortem.
Mahipaul leaves to mourn his wife and two children.
