An ex-police officer was remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly on Wednesday charged for executing a number of robberies.

Edwin Nunes, 24, of Lot 32 West Ruimveldt Garden, Georgetown denied the allegation brought against him.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that he on July 18, 2017, at Campbellville, Georgetown and while being armed with a cutlass and knife he robbed Dmitri Charles of keys, rings, chains and other items valued at $53,000.

The second charge alleged that on the same day at Sheriff Street, Georgetown and while being in the company of others he robbed Parmanand Harilall of one cellphone valued $12,000, one cutlass valued $1000 among other items totaling $19,300.

Magistrate Daly remanded the defendant to prison due to the fact that he was previously before the Court charged with a similar matter.

The ex-police is scheduled to return to Court on August 11, 2017, for reports.
