It was reported that Tiwari was Heritage Celebrations in the company of friends from his village, when he was swept away by the strong water current. However, by the time his friends noticed that he was struggling and attempted to help, it was too late.

According to some of his friends who spoke to this online publication, Tiwari was known as a jovial individual throughout his community.

The young man is the second son to his parents, and was also a former student of St. Rose’s High School.
