Commander Hicken inspects security infrastructure of Regent Street businesses

Police 1[www.inewsguyana.com] – Commander of the ‘A’ Division, Cliffton Hicken and his team visited several business entities along Regent Street recently to inspect new security measures and physical infrastructures following a meeting with the business community.

Commander Hicken told reporters that he was very pleased with the new security arrangements but admitted that some businesses still needed to increase their security.

The police checked the quality of cameras installed at business places, the quality of video resolution, the ability to enhance footage for the use of identifying number plates and individuals, monitoring and storage of recorded footage, the positioning of cameras and the quality of cameras being used to do surveillance by the business people.

Notable during the visit was the absence of security cameras in some establishments which are operated by Chinese Nationals along Regent Street.Police 3

When questioned by police officers about the absence of the cameras, some promised to install while others still had to contemplate.
