[www.inewsguyana.com] – It is definitely a great sight to see Guyana’s top athletes being afforded the opportunity to at the Leonora Synthetic track for the upcoming Carifta Games over the Easter weekend in St Kitts and Nevis.

However, it is baffling that the Government, National Sports Commission or the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) did not make the training sessions public.

The first news of the athletes training came after triple gold medalist at the Carifta Games, Cassey George posted a Facebook picture following her training session.

George’s caption was just finish training with the Carifta team. Reliable sources also confirmed to iNews that the athletes were using the track over week ago in preparation for the event.

Calls to Minister of Sport, Dr Frank Anthony for a comment on the Minsitry’s reasoning for not going public with the development were futile. The Carifta team is expected to wing on Thursday for the games and held their final training session of the event on Sunday at the track.
