Campbellville man remanded to prison for stealing household appliances

A father of five was remanded to prison on Monday when he made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Magistrate Judy Latchman.

Keon Crandon was charged for stealing household appliances and articles valued at G$740,000.

arrest-1It is alleged that on October 5, 2016 at Sheriff and Enachu Streets, Section K Campbellville, Crandon broke and entered the dwelling home of Diana Panday and stole several items including three gas bottles, a four-burner gas stove, a Dell desktop computer ,  a 42-inch television set, three flower vases and articles of clothing.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge read to him.

Police Prosecutor Sean Gonsalves told the court that the defendant, when confronted, confessed to the offence and revealed that previously he was brought before the court for committing a similar offence.

Crandon is scheduled to make his next court appearance on November 2, 2016.
