A 21-year-old Campbellville resident was on Monday before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for snatching a woman’s gold chains.

Ricardo Watson of Garnett Street, Campbellville, Georgetown denied that, on January 14 2018 at Bourda Market, he robbed Kerryann Haywood of the two gold chains valued $215,000.

According to reports surrounding the robbery, Haywood was walking in the Bourda Market when the accused sneaked up to her from behind and snatched the items.

However, on March 9 2018, she was walking in the vicinity of Club Monaco, Georgetown when she saw the said man.

As such, she called the Police who arrived on the scene shortly after and arrested Watson.

Magistrate Judy Latchman remanded the accused to prison. He will return to Court on March 26 2018.
