A bus conductor on Wednesday morning appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged with multiple counts of larceny.

Rico Persaud, 24, of 271 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to all charges when Magistrate Fabayo Azore read them to him.

The first charge alleged that he on June 10, 2017, at Oronoque Street, Georgetown, stole one Acer laptop valued $85,000 property of Mohammed Nazir.

It is also alleged that he on March 12, 2017, at Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown, stole one Sony cellphone valued at $150,000 property of Angeline Corrie.

The third charge against the defendant alleged that he on May 20, 2017, at the Marriott Hotel, Georgetown stole one Samsung S7 Edge cellphone valued at $170,000 and $50,000 cash from Ravi Shivpaul.

The final charge alleged that Persaud also on May 20, 2017, at the Marriott Hotel, Georgetown stole another Samsung cell phone valued at $140,000 property of Dookie Amad.

Police Prosecutor Simone Payne objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offense, the prevalence and the similarity of the charges.

However, bail was granted in the sum of $35,000 for each charge.

The defendant, who was heard using expletives while denying that he committed the acts, is expected to return to Court on June 28, 2017.
