Tricia Elizabeth of 651 Fort Ordinance, East Canje, Berbice pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on September 20, 2016, at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), she had in her possession 9.5kg of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking to the United States.

Magistrate McLennan fined her $25.6M and she was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

On the day of the incident, an examination was conducted on her suitcase which revealed that the illegal drug had been concealed within false walls of the suitcase.
