Police are investigating a robbery under arms committed on 24-year-old Jason Hussein,  of Glasgow Village, East Bank Berbice which occurred about 19:45hrs last evening at his house, by three masked males, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The Guyana Police Force said enquiries disclosed that the victim, who lives with his family in a one flat house, was alone at home when he observed a masked male entering an eastern window and he (victim) immediately ran to his front door in a bid to escape. However, he was confronted by two masked men, one with a handgun. The gunman reportedly discharged a round in the house.
The bandits then bound the victim’s hands behind his back, dealt him several cuffs and kicks about his body and demanded he hand over all his valuables. They then ransacked the house and carted off with several cell phones, pieces of jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash. The matter was reported and he was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital, where he was treated and sent away.
Investigators have retrieved a war-head fragmentation from a fridge door in the house as well as a spent shell of a small calibre weapon.
No one has been arrested so far, as investigations continue.
