The Trinidad Express is reporting that a nine year old boy was shot and killed in La Romaine near San Fernando on Friday night. Dead is Cyon Paul, who was a pupil of the La Romaine RC primary school.
Police said that at around 9 p.m. Seon was walking along the Southern Main Road near his home, when there was a shooting incident at a bar nearby.
According to the TT Express, Seon was shot in the back as he walked past the service station.
The child walked a few more steps before he fell to the ground, police were told.
The boy was in the company of his cousin. The two had walked to a nearby fast food truck to purchase hot dogs, according to the TT Express.
Officers of the San Fernando CID who were on patrol nearby responded and took Seon to the San Fernando General Hospital.
However, he succumbed to his injuries an hour later.
