The police are investigating the alleged murder of 34-year-old Omesh Chetram, of Unity, East Coast Demerara, which occurred sometime between 23:30hrs last night and 01:30hrs this morning at Bourda (corner of Robb and Alexander streets), Georgetown.
INews understands that the deceased had an argument with a male, during which the suspect stabbed him in the lower region of his abdomen with a knife and escaped. Chetram was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where a doctor pronounced him ‘dead on arrival’.The Police Force, in a statement this morning, said the suspect has not yet been arrested.
