[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 21 – year – old man was taken before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday where he was made to answer three gun related charges that stemmed from an attempted robbery on Wednesday, May 27.

Dellon Emanuel pleaded not guilty to three charges, one of which alleged that on May 27 at Light Street Bourda, he discharged a loaded firearm at Hilton Carlos Souza, with intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or to cause him grievous bodily harm.

Another charge alleged that on the same day at Light Street Bourda, he was in possession of one 9mm Taurus pistol when he was not a licensed firearm holder, while the third claimed on the same day at Light Street Bourda, he also had in his possession five live matching rounds.

According to the Prosecution, Hilton Carlos DeSouza – a Brazilian national was a guest at Rockies Sports Bar when Emanuel proceeded to the victim’s room and knocked on his door.

An argument ensued between the two parties and Emanuel allegedly whipped out a gun, pointed it to DeSouza and pulled the trigger. Fortunately, the bullet missed the victim.

DeSouza managed to disarm Emanuel, after which the police was summoned and arrested the gunman.

Bail was refused by the Chief Magistrate on all three charges and he was remanded to prison until June 15.
