– Police said teen was allegedly murdered following ‘altercation he had with some men over a female’
Police are investigating the alleged murder of 13-year-old Daveand Sanchar of Plantain Walk, Triumph, East Coast Demerara which occurred about 23:30hrs last night at an access road in the village.
“Investigations revealed that Daveand Sanchar who was at a function in the said village, had an altercation with some men over a female. He (deceased) subsequently left, and returned with a cutlass. A further argument ensued and it was alleged that one of the men took away the cutlass and dealt him a chop to his head. Whilst on the ground, he was given a severe beating with a stick,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.
Police said he victim was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspects are all in custody assisting the police with the investigation.
